Coffee Gallon

What ratios do you use? I tried one recipe with the nescafe gold but it had a weird taste.

1/2 cup instant coffee, 2 cups hot water, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup flavored coffee creamer of choice, 1 gallon milk. 2 pumps of Carmel syrup
